[...] Both Gen Y’ers and Boomers are ambitious. Gen Y’ers may achieve their goals differently than Boomers, but they are driven. Author Michael Adams discusses how Boomers will stay active in their culture, technology, and careers. In a marketing blog, Joel Marc remarks about Boomers, “Starting businesses, traveling, learning new languages, even going back to school! They are not the retirement-home crowd that my grandparents were.”(http://joelmarc.com/blog/the-impact-of-gen-y-on-a-decentralized-society/) [...]

It is well worth noting that on that day, the entire lower mainland had an incredible storm with flooding in many areas. If I am not mistaken, WhiteRock flooded that day as well. We were in the "sewage overflow" with hills all around us. The name depicted its purpose. We got sunburns in that area, and not a drop of overflow ran into that field. More than Amazing,

Well, I didn't realize that my hair did that to you! It's good to see that someone else remembered that day as fondly as I do.

A side story to Joel's is that we also held an open-to-the-public skate (meaning skateboard) competition right next to the overflow lot. We were young and didn't know that the upcoming competition had made some noise in the semi-pro skate world, and what we thought were local kids competing turned out to be circuit skate professionals. So, after a long day of music and skate competition we awarded the top three competitors with whatever prizes we had managed to scrounge from local skate and board shops. To our surprise the "local" kids all got upset with their prizes and told us they couldn't keep any of the branded merchandise because their sponsors wouldn't let them. Well, how were WE supposed to know that! Served them right if you ask me. So we awarded all the runners up, the real local kids, what the pro's had turned down. It was a great event.

Well, I don't have my hypnotic hair any more, but I still play the bass, whenever my four year old boy will let me that is.
